I tuned in last night extremely excited to see who was being sent to Bryant Park...unfortunately they kept it at four designers and I think it's obvious why...Kenley brings drama. And drama means TV. There is absolutely no other reason to keep her on after she has behaved the way she has.
I admit it felt kind of mean when the other three all mentioned each other as Bryant Park material however, none of them spoke badly about her directly. Kenley on the other hand completely called out Korto for no apparent reason. Ugh...thinking about her makes me so mad!
Anyway, onto the show...for this challenge Tim took them to the botanical gardens where they were supposed to gather inspiration from the nature. I don't think any of them pulled it off very well. I actually really liked Jerell's design (which won) but it didn't reflected the picture he chose as his inspiration at all. All of the designers seemed to lose creativity on this one. You would think they would step up their game, but it appears they are stumbling to the finish line!
Jerell's dress had a great shape, but unfortunately he was unable to completely figure out some things in the back (yet despite this it was still the best dress)
Kenley's dress was upsetting. I didn't mind the shape (mermaid), but I hated her fabric choice. She choice a pink python printed fabric that did not scream garden or flowers to me. The flower petals at the bottom were very unKenley and very unpopular with the judges. I was so disappointed in how the designers performed this time...especially given that their guest judge was Georgina Chapman, the creator of Marchesa...which I love!
Leanne designed a lavender gown that I really loved...in the front. The back was not that impressive. Unfortunately I only have pictures of the front so you will have to look at the nice part. It was very well made though (besides some fabric issues in the back....but that is probably just a matter of my taste).
Korto why did you have to use creamsicle? The color was just horrible. I really didn't like this dress, but I do like Korto so I am glad she is moving on.
